Bunleu Sungthong, Dr.rer.nat  is an Assistant Professor in Pharmaceutical Sciences and Technology at the Division of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Faculty of Pharmacy, Mahasarakham University. He has been working at the Faculty of Pharmacy since October 2003.

Dr.Sungthong graduated B.Sc. in Pharm and M.Pharm at the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Khon Kaen University. He completed his doctoral degree in Pharmacy (Magna Cum Laude) at Friedrich Schiller University Jena, Federal Republic of Germany in 2010. He was also appointed a post-doctoral research fellow at School of Pharmacy, Showa University, Tokyo, Japan in 2015 – 2016.

Dr.Sungthong is a member of the Asian Society of Natural Products and a committee for Thai Traditional and Alternative Medicines Staff Development at the Department of Thai Traditional and Alternative Medicines, Ministry of Public Health. Currently, he works as an editor of Isan Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, editorial board committee of (1) Advanced Science Journal (2) Journal of Cannabis, Hemp and Herbs, and review editor of Frontiers in Pharmacology (Ethnopharmacology section). He also serves as national and international peer reviewer for scientific journals. His research interest is focusing on analyses of plant secondary metabolites and their biological activities.
