Dr. Areerut (Apple) Leelathanalerk, PharmD, BCPS, is an Assistant Professor and a lecturer in Clinical Pharmacy Practice at Mahasarakham University (MSU), Thailand. Dr. Leelathanalerk received a doctor of pharmacy from MSU, Thailand in 2007. Later, she also earned another doctor of pharmacy degree with honors (summa cum laude) from the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy in 2015, supported by a full scholarship by the Royal Thai Government. Subsequently, Dr. Leelathanalerk completed a pharmacy residency and internal medicine specialty residency at the Banner-University Medical Center/University of Arizona College of Pharmacy in Tucson, AZ. She is a board certified pharmacotherapy specialist.
Since returning to MSU, Thailand, she has contributed several works to the faculty in both research and teaching. She also performs clinical pharmacy services both at tertiary hospitals and at a community pharmacy in Maha Sarakham. Currently, she is one of the members of the PharmD curriculum committee who are working rigorously to refine and establish the revised PharmD curriculum for MSU. Dr. Leelathanalerk is also a short course training committee chair, taking a significant role in training graduate pharmacists. Her areas of interest include internal medicine, cardiology, medication safety, and academia.
