6-YEAR DOCTOR OF PHARMACY (Pharm.D.)
The Faculty of Pharmacy offers a Doctor of Pharmacy curriculum in order to promote clinical pharmacy practice in health care organizations, pharmacies and communities. For the 6-year program, students are required to take 210 credits, starting in the academic year 2006. Courses include general education and basic sciences in the 1st and 2nd year, professional and health sciences courses in the 3rd to 5th year. In the 6th, the students are required to practice in 6 clinical rotations and undertake a research project.
Applying the principles of a student-centered and integrated learning curriculum, students gain knowledge and develop their professional skills through different teaching approaches, such as lectures, laboratories, problem-based learning and case study discussions, activity based learning, assignments, computerized databases, and practicing in community pharmacies and other health institutions.
